Gluten-Free Breakfasts That Actually Taste Amazing

Whether you’re following a gluten-free diet due to coeliac disease, gluten intolerance, or simply for a healthier lifestyle, finding satisfying breakfast options can be a challenge. Many supermarket choices fall flat, and eating out can feel risky. At Georgian House Hotel, we’re passionate about creating coeliac-friendly breakfasts that are full of flavour, texture and creativity. From gluten-free pancakes to fresh coconut macaroons, our kitchen team crafts dishes that prove you don’t have to sacrifice taste when living gluten-free.

If you’re looking for inspiration to try at home, here are some delicious gluten-free breakfast ideas. Some come straight from our own menu, while others are tested favourites we love to recommend.

Savoury Gluten-Free Breakfast Recipes to Try

Hash Browns with Gruyère and Pancetta

This 5-star-rated BBC recipe is a brilliant weekend brunch dish. Made with grated potatoes, onion, garlic, pancetta and Gruyère cheese, it’s naturally gluten-free and packed with rich flavour. Bake until golden and crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. Add mushrooms or grilled tomatoes for extra colour and taste.

Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 50 minutes
Serves: 4

Piperade with Eggs and Pancetta

Inspired by Basque flavours, this warm and colourful dish can be made in just 30 minutes. Sauté onions and pancetta, then add peppers, tomatoes and tomato purée. Create four small wells, crack an egg into each, and cook until set. It’s perfect for breakfast, brunch or even dinner.

Top tip: Add smoked paprika or chilli for a spicy twist.

Sweet Gluten-Free Breakfasts for the Morning Craving

Roasted Stone Fruits with Vanilla

For a naturally sweet start, roast apricots, peaches or nectarines in a sticky glaze of vanilla, cardamom, lime zest and sugar. Bake for 20 minutes until soft and caramelised. Serve warm over yoghurt for a breakfast that feels indulgent yet light.

Why it works: It’s low on processed ingredients and high on natural flavour.

Our Signature Gluten-Free Pancakes

Available on our breakfast menu at Georgian House, our fluffy gluten-free pancakes are topped with fresh berries, maple syrup or lemon and sugar. They’ve become a favourite among coeliac guests visiting London.

Quick and Easy Smoothies for Busy Mornings

Forest Fruit and Yoghurt Smoothie

Blend defrosted frozen berries, banana and fruity yoghurt for a refreshing, high-fibre smoothie. It’s great before work or as a grab-and-go breakfast.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Shake

This creamy smoothie tastes like dessert but is totally gluten-free. Blend banana, cocoa powder, peanut butter, coconut milk and honey. It’s ideal as a mid-morning snack or post-workout boost.

Top tip: Make in batches and keep chilled for up to three days.

Gluten-Free Breakfasts at Georgian House

At Georgian House Hotel, we take pride in offering a wide selection of gluten-free breakfast dishes. Whether you’re joining us for eggs benedict on gluten-free toast, a sweet treat like coconut macaroons, or a warming bowl of porridge, our menu caters to all dietary needs.

Why the Georgian House loves England

March 17, 2015 by ellie

This week is a special celebration of English Tourism Week and the Georgian House is going all out to show you how much we are proud to be quintessentially English! An exclusive Victorian themed breakfast with staff looking the part and some delicious delicacies from the 1800s are our ideas of a fun and also an educational way of celebrating the week. We have even been lucky enough to have MP for the Cities of London and Westminster constituency, Mark Field popping in this week for brekkie! As part of a competition, we asked you what are the best things about England and why you would choose this destination to come on holiday. We asked the same question to our staff, many of whom have come from around the world to work for us and their answers are truly inspiring. We’re going to share them with you.
