The 3 key ingredients to your Easter holiday

Easter fun with the kids in London

The most chocolate-y time of year that we all love is on its way and this Easter in London is set to be all things eggs, bunnies and more eggs! Be sure to make the Bank Holiday one to remember in the city and get involved with some of the great events and activities that the whole family will enjoy. From Sunday lunches to where to find the top-notch chocolate treats, get involved with what London has to offer for an egg-celent Easter holiday.

A little bit of fun – Battersea Park Children’s Zoo

The question is, what is Battersea Park Zoo not doing to celebrate Easter this year? Round up the kids and surprise them with a super fun day out involving lots of animals, eggs (chocolate ones – not from the animals) and creative activities. Send the little ones with a handy quiz sheet on the hunt to find colourful eggs hidden in some of the animal enclosures and be in for the chance to win a prize. Watch out though, some of the eggs may be in the snake enclosure! Also just for 2 days in April, test your knowledge with the egg display and try to work out which birds laid them. From eggs the size of your head to the smallest eggs laid at the zoo, learn some interesting facts and then design and colour your own eggs to place on the zoo’s collage. How cute a rabbit can you make to put on your own Easter card? Get your kids to show their flair for creativity and use a range of materials (mostly furry ones) to make a special card to send to a friend or relative. And after that, they can go and meet a real rabbit too. There are plenty of activities for the children to get involved in and celebrate the holiday, let alone the rest of family fun Battersea Park has in store! Find out more here.

Where to find your chocolate fix

Chocoholics of the capital, Easter time is the perfect time to unleash your taste buds on some of London’s most delicious chocolate shops and there is simply nothing better than a good old Easter egg to satisfy the craving. But, rather than settling for your average Dairy Milk egg from the supermarket, try something that’s really got the wow factor from some of the best chocolatiers in the city. A pioneer of UK fine chocolate, Rococo has some of the best chocolate on the market and this Easter, is creating unbelievably gorgeous hand-painted artisan eggs for customers that are just to die for! Watch your choccy treats being made in front of you at Melt, where the Medium Dark Retro Egg is highly recommended with a 70s flower design and filled up with mini eggs inside! Finally, who can forget Hotel Chocolat and their giant Ostrich egg (the size of an actual ostrich egg) hiding lots of little sweet treats inside. Go crazy for chocolate this Easter, it’s the only excuse we’ve got until Christmas!

A simply egg-celent afternoon tea

The Georgian House has got some egg-citing (last one, promise) twists on our afternoon tea service this Easter, you just don’t want to miss out! We’ll start with 3 words: hot, cross, scones. Fresh and warm ready to indulge along with some other irresistable sweet treats, including Rhubarb and Almond Bavarois Egg and some scrumptious themed biscuits. There’ll also be a refreshing take on savoury, with tomato, pesto & feta bruschetta, lamb, sheep’s yoghurt and mint and more! Call us today to find out more information and book: 0207 834 1438

Easter Sunday Lunch

What’s Easter without a Sunday lunch with all the family? Indulge in Victoria’s heartiest pub food at St. George’s Tavern where you will not be disappointed by their mouth-watering Sunday roast in a traditional, yet unique setting and quality service. Overlooking St. Paul’s Cathedral, Paternoster Chop House is a great family restaurant with all your favourite British dishes and if it’s a nice sunny Easter Sunday, enjoy the views out on the terrace! Finally, choose between casual and elegant at the Thomas Cubitt, where you’re guaranteed attentive service, a selection of succulent meats with roasted veg and a fluffy Yorkshire pud. Yum!
