Christmas Day dining in London – Where is open?

November 9, 2016 by ellie

Halloween is old news already, time to raid the attic for your decorations, squeeze an oversized tree through your living room door and start the all-important gift shopping! It’s our favourite time of year and we are already thinking ahead to Christmas celebrations in the city and how you can make it the most memorable yet! The lights are being lit all around London this month, with some famous names even flicking the switch to officially start the season. Not to mention all the effort that’s going to be put in by some of the biggest stores in the city, such as Harrods and John Lewis (and we can’t wait for their new tear-jerking advert this year!) It’s all excitement in the lead up to the big day, but what about when it finally arrives…what can you have readily planned for you and your family/partner/friends after you’ve woken up with the best ‘IT’S CHRISTMAS’ feeling? Of course, being a public holiday, a lot of businesses around London come to a halt to spend time with their loved ones. But, who will still be waiting for you with open arms? Here’s how you can spend the holiday in London:

It’s been 15 years since the release of the first movie, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Feel old yet? The Studio Tour based in Leavesden is not only celebrating the notable event, but also preparing for the winter season with all your favourite festivities and themed activities alongside hosting special screenings of the newly released film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Here’s what they’re getting up to this season!

Restaurants with a view – Where to watch Bonfire Night fireworks

October 20, 2016 by ellie

Want to celebrate the 5th November with a bang this year? It’s obvious that the best view of a firework display is out in a park or even in your own back garden with some hot chocolate and a sparkler, but let’s face it, it’s getting very cold out there. Why not watch a dazzling display in the warmth and comfort of a restaurant sipping a glass of champers? The same goes too for New Year’s Eve (it will come around quicker than you think), welcome 2017 in style and watch the colourful action unfold below from these fabulous restaurants in the heart of the city.

Top London activities for October half-term and Halloween

October 10, 2016 by ellie

For an awesome day out with the family, London is simply full of fun activities to entertain all ages and now is the time to make the most of the city’s outdoor spaces while the sun still shines! And of course, even if it’s a little gloomy out, there’s plenty of places to go and things to do with kids for half-term holidays… from wildlife, to theatre and believe it or not, museums. Get quacking feeding some ducks in St. James’ Park, take a treetop walk at the golden Kew Gardens or go back to the dinosaur years at the Natural History Museum. Whatever you choose, you and your family will not only have a great time, but you’ll learn something new too. Here’s what we recommend:
