Discover London’s Most Unique Themed Hotels for an Unforgettable Family Stay

November 21, 2023 by ellie

Themed hotels have become one of the most exciting accommodation trends in London, offering guests the chance to immerse themselves in imaginative worlds without leaving the city. Over the last decade, bookings for themed hotels in London have increased by more than 300%, with revenues doubling in the past three years. Whether you’re visiting for a family holiday, a weekend break, or a short getaway, London’s best themed hotels combine comfort, creativity, and memorable experiences.

From magical wizard chambers to tropical hideaways and regal palace suites, these properties offer much more than just a bed for the night — they deliver a complete story-driven stay.

Step Into a Magical World at the Wizard Chambers – Georgian House Hotel

Located in historic Pimlico, just minutes from Victoria Station, the Georgian House Hotel has been welcoming guests since 1851. While much of the property showcases elegant, contemporary boutique style, its Wizard Chambers are something entirely different.

Hidden behind a discreet door on the lower level, guests enter via a candlelit passageway adorned with portraits and Gothic details. Each chamber features stained glass windows, stone arches, cauldrons, and detailed furnishings that make you feel as though you’ve stepped into a magical world.

For families, the Wizard Chambers offer an enchanting base to explore London, with the option to pair your stay with themed experiences such as wizard-themed afternoon tea and nearby magical walking tours.

Experience Royal Treatment at a Palace-Inspired Hotel

Some London hotels embrace regal grandeur inspired by Britain’s royal history. While the Georgian House Hotel offers Victorian charm, other palace-themed hotels in the city take inspiration from the luxury of royal life, offering lavish suites, butler service, and fine dining restaurants — some even boasting Michelin-starred status.

Staying in such properties allows guests to enjoy a taste of aristocratic elegance, often in landmark buildings within walking distance of Buckingham Palace.

Escape to Paradise in a Tropical-Themed Retreat

For something truly unexpected, London is also home to hotels inspired by faraway destinations. Some feature real sand, cascading indoor waterfalls, and exotic décor designed to transport you straight to the Caribbean or Polynesia.

Perfect for families, these properties often include kid-friendly pools, themed dining options, and activities that bring the tropical theme to life — all while keeping you close to the city’s main attractions.

Why Choose a Themed Hotel in London?

Themed hotels combine the excitement of storytelling with the convenience of a central London location. They’re ideal for:

  • Family stays – turning your holiday into an adventure for all ages
  • Special occasions – birthdays, anniversaries, or surprise getaways
  • Short breaks – making the most of a weekend in the city with a memorable theme

Many themed hotels also offer seasonal packages and exclusive experiences, giving you extra reasons to return.

Women’s History Month

March 9, 2020 by ellie

International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month

At Georgian House we place significant importance on developing individuals and providing equal opportunities regardless of gender, ethnicity or background and championing women plays a significant role in this. Partner at Georgian House and female trailblazer Serena von der Heyde has always been passionate about celebrating women’s successes, highlighting the issues women are still facing in industry and looking at ways we can create a pipeline of talent to enable more women to progress their careers at leadership level within hospitality. For us at Georgian House championing women begins by providing a diverse and empowering work environment with equal opportunities and development plans  in place to allow all team members to progress at Georgian House and beyond.

Flexible working hours We understand the importance of being able to manage working hours and that this can be particularly difficult for working and single parents to manage. We always look to provide flexibility with working hours allowing team members to balance their work commitments and home life.
