With British Pie Week underway its time to show some respect for the humble British pie! Of course at Georgian House we feel the only plausible way to pay homage to such a dish is by consuming copious amounts of pie! But you haven’t made pie before I hear you say… how do you get the perfect flaky crust…prevent the filling from spilling… relax, put your pyrex down because this British Pie Week we’ve teamed up with the experts to show us how its done. Piebury Corner began in 2011 as a food stall in Paul and Nicky Campbell’s front garden in Highbury, selling handmade gourment pies to Arsenal fans on route to the Emirates Stadium. Playing a vital role in fuelling football fans Paul and Nicky’s guerrilla marketing quickly grabbed the attention of even the most ardent of fans.
Since 2011 Paul and Nicky have become proud owners of Piebury Corner at Holloway and have since opened thier Kings Cross Pie Bar. Offering a mouth-watering selection of both traditional and quirky pies to eat in or takeaway, all Piebury Corner’s pies are made using locally sourced ingredients showcasing the traditional British flavours we love. This British Pie Week we have picked three truly delicious flavours (Chicken and Leek, Steak and Ale and vegan and gluten free Mediterranean) to showcase for our guests in our Pimlico Pantry. But of course no pie would be complete without mash and gravy, top it off with a glass of our house wine, beer or soft drink of your choice and all for just £15, its sure to be a crowd pleaser! So what are you waiting for… your pie awaits!
