Discover the London locations of the world’s best secret agent

October 26th is the long anticipated release-date for the next episode in the James Bond phenomenon, where Daniel Craig will not fail to disappoint us with his performance as the charming, yet deadly MI6 agent. Spectre is due to be even bigger, louder and cooler than the international success that was Skyfall and is down to be the best action movie of the year. This week’s blog is dedicated to the fans of the James Bond franchise that either need to get themselves prepared for the big release of the new movie, or want to simply be able to stand where the many actors of 007 stood. Here’s how you can get the low-down behind the genius movie making, right here in London!

If you want to know about where the incredible movies have been set, the James Bond Walking Tour of London is the experience for you. With 5 stars on TripAdvisor, the customer reviews rave about the fascinating sites that thrilled us in the films and highly recommend the tour as a must for fans. The tour begins at Planet Hollywood where you can gaze upon memorabilia from the series and for 2.5 hours you are taken on a journey through Westminster to discover locations around London, including some from Die Another Day, For Your Eyes Only and Skyfall. Learn about aspects of the British Secret Service and how the Bond fantasy meets reality as you weave through the heart of British politics and government, taking epic selfies on the way. You’ll even walk past the secret location of MI6 HQ whilst finding out more about the behind-the-scenes action.

If you are not keen on taking the outdoor tour (we understand it is getting quite chilly outside), perhaps consider embarking on the James Bond Tour with London Duck Tours where you can venture out into the dangerous world of Bond by road and river! Not only will you explore the film sites around London, but you’ll also be able to visit locations associated with the brilliant James Bond author, Ian Fleming. Follow the footsteps of Fleming, Sean Connery, Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan visiting The Ritz, Ian Fleming’s house, Q’s office, Buckingham Palace and so much more. Click this link to download the PDF map of the tour.

Due to recent popular demand, the London Film Museum has extended its Bond In Motion exhibition and believe us when we say it is not one to be missed! This exciting exhibition displays the largest collection of original 007vehicles that feature in the series, including the Aston Martin DB5, Gold finger’s Rolls-Royce Phantom and the Lotus Espirit submersible from The Spy Who Loved Me, alongside a range of boats, motorcycles and aircraft to be explored. The vehicles play a key part in all movies so far and absolutely all of what you see, is the original high-performance machinery. Tickets are available via https://londonfilmmuseum.com/home/

Other famous Bond locations are always available to visit as you pass by through London’s streets, such as Somerset House featured in Goldeneye, The National Gallery in Skyfall, Dukes Hotel where the ‘shaken, not stirred’ notorious line was created and much more. James Bond may travel all around the world, but his hometown will always be London!
