Top tip: Visit in December and treat yourself to seasonal treats and gifts at Elizabeth Street’s pop-up Christmas market.

Fun fact: Elizabeth Street was built and opened in the 1860s.

King’s Road

King’s Road is home to unique eateries, trendy boutiques and glamorous designer shops. Stretching through Chelsea and Fulham, King’s Road is famously known for its 1960s style and affluent community.

Top tip: Hunt for treasures at the Chelsea Antiques Market.

Fun fact: King’s Road derives its name from its function as a private road used by King Charles II to travel to Kew.

Portobello Market

Located in the heart of West London, Portobello Market has been around since the 19th century and stretches for two miles down Portobello Road. Selling everything from precious antiques to bread and fruit, the market is a must visit for any avid shopper.

Top tip: For the full effect of the market, visit on a Saturday but be prepared for large crowds.

Fun fact: The life of the market began when the nuns that lived on Portobello Farm started selling milk and produce.

Ebury Street and Ebury Square Gardens

Ebury Street is a historic street in Belgravia and is home to an array of unique independent shops and restaurants. Ebury Square Gardens, a former nursery garden, boasts an iron fountain and stunning golden acacia trees.

Top tip: On the corner of Ebury Street is where Pimlico Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday from 9am. Visit to buy fresh seafood, organic vegetables and award-winning meat.

Fun fact: Ebury Street was home to many famous individuals including Mozart and Ian Fleming.

Notting Hill

Notting Hill is one of London’s most visited areas and is home to the world famous Notting Hill Carnival and Portobello Market. Notting Hill is also famous for being the setting for serval iconic movies including Notting Hill, Paddington Bear and Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

Top tip: Take a guided walking tour to get the full experience of Notting Hill.

Fun fact: The blue-doored house that belongs to Hugh Grant in the famous Notting Hill film can be found at 280 Wilbourne Rd just off Portobello Road.

Selfridges

Top tip: Selfridges is world famous for its innovative window displays, visit at Christmas to bask in their creative wonders.

Fun fact: Harry Selfridge, the founder of Selfridges, is believed to have first said the phrase “the customer is always right”.
