Not far off a week’s time, our much loved breakfast service is back in business, serving you your favourite dishes to get your morning going. We’re incredibly excited to be re-opening the doors to our fresh, new Breakfast Room that is guaranteed to wow! We hope you will be very impressed by the increase of space and the careful detail in design, not to mention the simply delicious foods we serve daily to make sure you’re ready for the day ahead. In the lead up to this long-anticipated day, some of our lovely ladies from the GH team, Kinga, Judit and Eszter decided to pay a special visit to our local farm to find out more about the fresh ingredients we have served over the years and soon to serve again.
The Old Dairy farm workers and animals are the generous producers of our breakfast eggs, jam and cheese, working consistently hard to ensure we serve only the freshest ingredients to our guests. For our three musketeers, it was a valuable experience to see where it all begins and not only were they impressed with the sheer organisation and quality, they felt influenced on a personal level about how they serve our breakfast. “It is a different level than just to taste them”, says Eszter who feels that seeing the production of our eggs is definitely going to influence the way she talks about breakfast to guests and other staff. We’re certainly proud of our locally sourced ingredients, not only because it holds exceptional quality, but also because it’s our way of giving back to the community and it seems Eszter can’t wait to tell everyone about it! Judit agrees 100%, saying that she is happy to have now gotten the whole picture of the Georgian House as a family business and the personal meaning of local sourcing. For Judit, she only had great things to say about the jam production and just couldn’t wait to get stuck in and make some of her own. “For me the most impressive visit was the Deerview. It was like a living laboratory, so complex, well organised and the quality was so high without any modern technics at all.” The ladies also had a wander over to the High Weald Diary where they got a look into (and a little taste) of different types of cheeses, some that we will have ready to eat on our breakfast buffet. They had one word: amazing! “It was lovely to meet these people and to see their hard work”, adds Eszter, perhaps forgetting to mention that they all had a special meet and greet with the farm animals too!
The Georgian House breakfast is the connection between farmers and consumers, raising awareness of where our food comes from and how it is produced. We are all for supporting local farms in return for fresher and more flavoursome foods that we’re proud to serve to you. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all those at the farm who so kindly showed our team around and reminded us of how important you are to our business. Thanks to you, our menu is going to be better than ever and we’ll be ever grateful for your hard work.
