VisitEngland has declared 2017 the ‘Year of Literary Heroes’, with the 200th anniversary of the death of Jane Austen, the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter, and the 75th anniversary of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five to name a few literary landmarks in the calendar. It’s a big year for the world’s biggest stories and the Georgian House simply can’t wait to celebrate.
Cast your mind all the way back to 2013…
… when our very own five-star boutique bed and breakfast in London captured the world’s attention with the launch of the Wizard Chambers! The demand for the rooms was unbelievable, with fans from all around the globe wanting to know more and to experience the magic hidden behind the bookcase. Before long, it was time to expand and so we went on to develop the Enchanted Chambers in 2015, following such international interest in the unique rooms.
What to expect when you enter the mysterious world of the Wizard and Enchanted Chambers
Guests looking for the ultimate magical break to the capital have to pass through a passageway hidden behind an inconspicuous bookcase to reach the world-renowned rooms where a whole host of curious artefacts await behind each door. A unique hotel stay like you’ve never seen before, the Wizard Chambers offer guests the experience of staying in a magical dormitory complete with stained glass windows, wood burners, pewter cookware and four poster beds draped with velvet curtains. Having received significant interest in the themed bedrooms from couples and not just families, the two newest rooms have been designed to offer a more intimate atmosphere and romantic feel, perfect to surprise your partner with.
Each room offers an atmospheric escape with gothic style features, cauldrons, potion bottles and leather bound books giving the impression of staying in an enchanted and ancient castle. Smaller in size but with no less magic and excitement, the beautifully designed Enchanted Chambers are centred around a more romantic and sophisticated vibe, which in turn creates a more adult experience, ensuring the themed chambers appeal to every age group.
